International Dark-Sky Association
I am a member of the International
Dark-Sky Association (www.darksky.org) and the
Southern-Arizona section of IDA. Recently, I have been working on a Light Pollution Meter. Several measurement
parties have been held and here is the DarkskyData.pdf.
I have created some posters for star parties and other events to increase
consciousness of light pollution issues. This is a MS-WORD document, download
from this link: DARKMATTERS
Space and Space Activism:
I am now a member of the The
Tucson L5 Space Society.
Until June of 1998, I was with the Atlanta Chapter of the
National Space Society (NSS).
I invite your comments on an "opinion piece" document I wrote
about NSS Atlanta Chapter Activities.
The NSS issued this policy
statement for space development and exploration in 1995.
Recently, a couple of interesting articles by Tim Roberts have been published on the NSS-Discuss email list, and I have linked them here:
WHITE PAPER ON A NATIONAL SPACE STRATEGY FOR THE 21ST CENTURY
How NSS Can Implement the New National Space Strategy for the 21st Century
Theresa Holmes' introduction to Tim Roberts white papers
Here is the article I wrote proposing a specific social and governmental
structure for a space colony based on First
Millennial Foundation (FMF) ideals, which I call Foundation Enterprise.
I also wrote a summary of a discussion on the FMF-Social email list about
the idea of an Aquarian Rite of Passage.
Also check out The Artemis Project!
In 1981, I co-wrote an article with Brad Linaweaver
on the first mission of the Space Shuttle, Columbia, entitled Nostalgia for the Future
